New G-Connect plug-in brings SlimLane status data, alarms and remote control into a single security management environment
Secure entrance control specialist Automatic Systems and German video security company Geutebrück have entered into a technology partnership aimed at integrating pedestrian access control more closely with central security operations.
A newly developed plug-in for Geutebrück’s G-Connect interface allows Automatic Systems’ SlimLane speed gates to be connected directly to the G-SIM security management and G-Core video management platforms. The integration gives operators access to gate status information, alarms and control functions through the same interface used to manage other security events, removing the need for separate site-specific applications.
Automatic Systems, headquartered in Belgium, develops pedestrian, vehicle and passenger access systems and says it has installed around 500,000 units in 150 countries. SlimLane is designed for controlled pedestrian access in high-traffic environments and combines rapid bidirectional throughput with infrared-based detection of events such as tailgating, multiple entry attempts, changes of direction and unauthorised passage.
Geutebrück’s G-Core software forms the video management foundation of the company’s security solutions, while G-SIM adds a broader security information management layer. Both platforms are designed to integrate video with third-party security, sensor and building systems, allowing operators to manage events through a common operational environment. (
Real-time monitoring from the control room
Following the integration, operators can see the current status of each SlimLane gate in real time. The system indicates whether a lane is operating normally, locked, being held open or running in another defined operating mode.
Security-related events—including unauthorised passage, movement in the wrong direction and suspected manipulation—are displayed as alarms in the control room. They can then be assessed, recorded and escalated in the same way as other events within the Geutebrück environment.
The central interface also allows authorised operators to control the gates remotely. Depending on operational requirements, individual lanes can be locked, released, held open or switched to a predefined passage mode.
This functionality is intended to support changing conditions at heavily used entrances. Examples include temporary access restrictions, periods of high visitor traffic, security incidents, service operations and evacuation scenarios in which pedestrian flows must be adjusted quickly.
Fault information and scalable deployment
The plug-in also monitors the availability of the gates and their communications links. If a SlimLane unit or its connection becomes unavailable, the platform generates a system message. Operators are also informed when communication has been restored.
This gives security teams greater visibility of technical faults and can shorten the time required to identify operational problems. Additional SlimLane units can be added later and assigned as individual system objects, enabling the same integration model to be extended across multiple entrances, buildings or locations.
Integration reflects a wider market shift
The partnership is commercially relevant beyond the connection of two individual products. Security operators increasingly want video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection and building systems to work as part of a coordinated workflow rather than through separate applications.
For Geutebrück, the SlimLane plug-in expands the range of third-party physical security equipment that can be managed through its open software ecosystem. The company already positions G-Core as a scalable platform with interfaces for access systems, sensors, automation technology and other external solutions.
For Automatic Systems, compatibility with Geutebrück gives SlimLane installations a direct route into central video and security management environments. This is particularly relevant for corporate headquarters, transport facilities, public-sector buildings and other locations where high pedestrian throughput must be combined with rapid alarm assessment and control-room response.
The main operational benefit is not simply remote gate control. By placing access events alongside live and recorded video, operators can evaluate incidents within a broader context and react through a single interface. The partnership therefore reflects the security industry’s continuing move away from isolated hardware towards interoperable platforms that connect detection, verification and response.
