Comelit Strengthens Its European Presence Through the Acquisition of Ritto

January 30, 2026

The Comelit Group S.p.A. has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire 100 percent of Ritto, a long-established German brand specializing in door communication systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. With this strategic acquisition, Comelit continues its consistent growth trajectory and expands its portfolio with one of the reference brands in the German market.

Strategic Expansion in a Core Market

The transaction pursues two primary strategic objectives: further strengthening Comelit’s core business in door entry and communication systems, and significantly increasing its market share in Germany. Germany has long been a key market for the Group, where Comelit has been present for many years through its own subsidiary.

The agreement to acquire the Ritto brand from Schneider Electric was signed on January 23, 2026. Completion of the transaction is expected in July 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. The acquisition will be fully financed through Comelit’s own funds, underscoring the Group’s financial strength and the sustainability of its long-term growth strategy.

Ritto: A Strong Brand With Deep Market Roots

Founded in Germany in 1976, Ritto has built a strong brand identity that enjoys widespread recognition among electrical installers and specialist wholesalers. With annual revenues exceeding €13 million, Ritto is now one of the leading suppliers in the German door communication market and is regarded as the second most well-known brand in this segment.

Quality and reliability have consistently defined Ritto’s solutions and have contributed to the brand’s nationwide establishment. With an installed base of more than five million residential units, extensive market expertise, long-standing customer relationships, and solid technological know-how, Ritto represents a valuable strategic addition to Comelit’s portfolio.

Comelit intends to further enhance customer value by investing in the renewal of the Ritto product range and in excellent service offerings—leveraging more than 70 years of Comelit Group experience in door communication and security technologies.

Management Perspectives

“This acquisition represents a strategically very important step for Comelit,” said Edoardo Barzasi, CEO of the Comelit Group. “It strengthens our presence in Germany in the field of door communication—our core business—and is fully aligned with an external growth strategy that supports the Group’s long-term industrial vision. The path to this agreement was long and demanding, but it now allows us to look confidently toward future development opportunities.”

Following completion of the transaction, Comelit will assume responsibility for Ritto’s business and guide its future development. Production operations and the Ritto brand itself will be preserved, ensuring continuity and reliability for customers and partners.

“We are very pleased to welcome this important brand into our portfolio,” added Francesco Franchini, Deputy General Manager Sales & Marketing of the Comelit Group. “We are convinced that this will create strong synergies and new growth opportunities for our business in Germany—a market that has always been one of Comelit’s strategic core markets.”
