Dussmann and Schultz Group take over facility management for Hamburger Sparkasse (Haspa)

  • Building services and cleaning in 200 locations
  • Haspa relies on two operating service providers
  • Interdisciplinary team started regular operations at the beginning of July

Dussmann and the Schultz Group took over responsibility for facility management at Hamburger Sparkasse AG (Haspa) in July 2023. As operating service providers, the two large full-service companies are thus responsible for the approximately 200 Haspa locations.

With 126 properties and over 70 self-service and ATM locations, Haspa is the leading bank for private customers and medium-sized corporate customers in the Hamburg metropolitan region. In the course of restructuring its facility management, Germany’s largest savings bank had decided to manage only its core business-related areas on its own in the future. The employees of the Schultz Group and Dussmann will work for Haspa in the areas of building services and cleaning, among others.

“With the decision to outsource FM services for all other areas, including operator responsibility, Haspa is taking a consistent step towards more efficient processes and securing access to all required services at all times,” says Dieter Lenuweit, Managing Director of the Schultz Group. At the same time, the close cooperation with two operating service providers enables Haspa’s managers to perform their remaining duties as operators and supervisors with a relatively small team in the future.

In order to find partners who guarantee the highest level of expertise in infrastructural and technical building management, the Haspa team had carried out a complex tendering procedure. The aim was to find two service providers who were willing to work together in a harmonised manner and at the same time synchronise their processes with those of Haspa.

“The particular challenge in the tender for us was to decisively collect and prepare all existing data in order to make it quantifiable for the bidders,” explains Nico Urban, Head of Purchasing, Facility Management and Logistics at Hamburger Sparkasse.

Accordingly, the requirements for the bidders were very high. “Integrated facility management is one of our great strengths. We at Dussmann are all the more pleased that we, together with the Schultz Group, have been awarded the contract for maintenance, glass and special cleaning as well as building services,” emphasizes Harald Fischer, Managing Director at Dussmann Service Deutschland GmbH. Both companies convinced us with their great expertise and depth of service and, after an implementation phase lasting several months, began regular operations with their highly qualified interdisciplinary teams on July 1.
