SCHAKO, experts in ventilation and air-conditioning solutions for commercial and public buildings, presented its latest fire protection innovations, the BKE and BKRUE fire dampers, at FeuerTrutz in Nuremberg.

Fire damper SCHAKO BKE : The fire damper BKE and overflow damper BKRUE were presented for the first time at the ISH in March 2023. The innovations from SCHAKO already received positive feedback here. Now SCHAKO also used the Feuertrutz in Nuremberg to show these new developments to the trade public.BKE – the new SCHAKO fire damper for wooden constructions Wood is enjoying increasing popularity as a building material. For some years now, and increasingly, office and commercial buildings as well as special buildings such as day-care centres have been based on wooden constructions. For this reason, SCHAKO has developed the fire damper BKE, which is also suitable for use in timber constructions such as timber stud, timber panel and timber frame walls, cross laminated timber walls and ceilings (CLT constructions). The SCHAKO fire damper BKE immediately impresses with a number of advantages such as dry installation, a hygiene certificate, an environmental product declaration (EPD) and an ATEX marking. The use of a one-piece housing and the enclosure of the drive unit increase the housing tightness. In addition, the BKE can be combined with the SCHAKO EasyBus signalling and switching bus system. The BKE will be available from the 4th quarter of 2023. BKRUE – the fire-resistant overflow closure The BKRUE is a round fire-resistant closure for overflows, which is an ideal addition to the existing rectangular fire-resistant closure BKA-Ü. The solution consists of the proven BSK-RPR fire damper and the RMS smoke detection system. The BKRUE will be available from the 3rd quarter of 2023.
