Open worlds. Connect solutions

Burglary protection that is still easy to use. Panic and fire protection that works when it matters most. Accessibility that does not compromise on aesthetics. Installation that is simpler and more cost-effective. GU demonstrated in Nuremberg how this works in practice.

The focus was on solutions that do not view security, accessibility, panic and fire protection, ease of use and design in isolation, but systematically combine them. The result: fewer interfaces, less coordination effort and greater certainty in planning and implementation. Today’s industry demands solutions that bring functionality and design together and can be used across projects.

Six thematic worlds. Four planning scenarios. One system concept.

The exhibition stand was organised into specific thematic areas – from detached houses to nurseries and care homes, right through to lobbies. Not a product showcase, but practical applications with solutions that can be directly applied to planning and implementation.

Detached house
Security starts at the front door. The SECURY ePOWER Home 2 combines convenient operation with certified security requirements. A solution that fabricators can install without compromise.

Thought through to the end

The RC3 tilt-and-turn window with the new concealed SCF 30 hinge side combines burglary protection with a flush-mounted appearance, even with heavy sash weights, without compromising on workmanship. In addition, a parallel sliding element in wood-aluminium was presented: The highlight: automated CNC production eliminates the need for complex manufacturing processes. The unit can be produced quickly and cost-effectively and integrates directly into existing manufacturing processes. Also available with its own GU threshold and RC2-compliant. Less complexity in manufacturing and installation, resulting in a noticeably higher margin.

Nursery

In the nursery, the focus was on standard-compliant and comprehensive protection of escape and rescue routes, as well as safe smoke and heat extraction for maximum safety. GU presented a comprehensive, tested system from the main entrance door to the side entrance door, featuring a smoke and heat extraction supply air function and a smoke and heat extraction exhaust air element in the form of a pivot window. This provides planning certainty, simplifies tendering processes and reduces coordination efforts – a decisive advantage for sensitive building types. Anyone who also needs to calculate smoke and heat extraction systems will find the GU RWA-calGUlator to be a digital planning tool that is directly applicable in day-to-day project work.

Retirement home

Accessibility that you cannot see, but feel immediately. The balcony unit with motorised tilt-and-turn drive can be operated at the touch of a button, via a smart home connection or manually in the traditional way. This significantly increases flexibility and comfort for the user. Equally accessible: the lift-and-slide element with integrated HS LiftUnit: the operating force required at the handle is reduced by 50%. Combined with an accessible system threshold, this creates a solution that meets the highest user requirements and enables noticeably easier operation. The installer benefits from simple, quick installation.

Lobby

First impressions count, and technology must not get in the way. The extra-tall pivot door with integrated servo function and intelligent synchronisation of both door sides achieves precisely that: a design statement that feels completely natural in its execution and impresses with its comfort. The semi-automated panoramic lift-and-slide element complements this requirement, large-format, precise, without any visible technical complexity. For fabricators, this means: projects with the highest design standards can be realised using tried-and-tested system solutions, without compromising on craftsmanship or facing design restrictions. For planners, fabricators and users, this results in solutions that leave a lasting impression.

Award-winning: GU fixed-sash stop

The patented fixed-sash stop with magnetic release unit received a mention at the Innovation Award 2026. It improves the operation of double-sash units with flush-to-floor thresholds, can be retrofitted and is compatible across systems. This creates additional flexibility – even in existing buildings.

The trade fair demonstrated that there is a demand for solutions that consider requirements in an integrated manner. Consistent systems reduce planning effort and increase reliability in implementation.
