Hanwha Vision – Bi-spectral early warning cameras for fire detection

October 24, 2025

Hanwha Vision has unveiled its new bi-spectral early warning cameras, which combine thermal radiometry with visible imaging. The aim is to detect fires at an early stage, monitor temperatures accurately and ensure reliable video surveillance at the same time.

Early detection for safety-critical environments

The new TNM-C2712TDR and TNM-C2722TDR models have been specially developed for critical applications, such as industrial plants, data centres and electric vehicle charging stations. There, they serve as a complementary system to traditional fire alarm systems and help security personnel identify potential fire hazards at an early stage before failures or damage occur.
Fires not only cause significant property damage, but can also endanger human lives. Hanwha Vision addresses this risk with two-stage detection technology:

  • The visible optics analyse visually detectable flames using advanced video analysis functions.
  • At the same time, the thermal sensor registers temperature changes.
  • This dual detection enables fast and accurate alarms, allowing users to react immediately before a fire spreads

More than just fire detection: intelligent temperature monitoring

In addition to pure fire detection, the cameras offer real-time temperature monitoring, which enables predictive maintenance of systems and devices.
Users can define up to two monitoring areas and continuously record minimum, maximum and average temperatures.
With individually adjustable temperature thresholds, the cameras automatically trigger alarms as soon as certain limits are exceeded or not reached.
The measuring range from -10 °C to 450 °C makes the models versatile – from electronics manufacturing to energy supply.

Compact technology with a long range

The cameras are equipped with a QVGA thermal detector (160×120 pixels) and have wide-angle lenses:

  • TNM-C2712TDR: 95° field of view for distances up to approx. 7 m
  • TNM-C2722TDR: 57° field of view for distances up to approx. 15 m

Simultaneous capture of visible and thermal images allows users to maintain an overview at all times – even in darkness, smoke or fog.

Seamless integration into industrial systems

For industrial use, the cameras are compatible with SCADA systems via the MQTT protocol. This allows temperature and event data to be efficiently integrated into automation and control networks.
Hanwha Vision’s SUNAPI protocol also allows temperature information to be integrated into various software solutions, including Wisenet SSM, Wisenet WAVE and popular third-party VMS platforms.

Robust, compact and durable

The bi-spectral cameras are designed for continuous operation in demanding environments. Their robust, compact housing allows for both indoor and outdoor installation and guarantees a long service life even under difficult conditions.

With the new TNM-C2712TDR and TNM-C2722TDR, Hanwha Vision is launching a powerful combination of video surveillance and temperature measurement.
The bi-spectral technology allows fires to be detected at an early stage, minimising risks and avoiding operational interruptions – a decisive advance for all safety-critical applications where preventive fire protection and seamless monitoring go hand in hand.
