Hirsch UK integrates perimeter security into Genetec Security Centre

Greater transparency, faster response times and a centralised security platform: Hirsch UK has announced the integration of its perimeter security solutions into the Genetec Security Centre. This collaboration enables operators of critical infrastructure and other high-security areas to consolidate perimeter security and security management within a single, unified platform.

Perimeter security without siloed solutions

As security infrastructures become increasingly digitalised, the need for integrated solutions is growing. Instead of isolated individual systems, organisations are increasingly turning to platforms that consolidate information from different security domains and analyse it centrally.

The new integration links Hirsch UK’s perimeter detection systems with the Genetec Security Centre. This provides users with a centralised overview of security-related events, enabling them to verify alarms more quickly and assess threats more efficiently. At the same time, it is designed to simplify operational processes and reduce response times.

SecureBus links perimeter protection and security management

The technical basis for the integration is SecureBus technology, which enables various perimeter protection systems from Hirsch UK to be managed directly within the Genetec platform. All events are displayed in a single user interface, providing security managers with a more comprehensive overview of the situation.

This eliminates the need to switch between different applications – a particular advantage for control centres monitoring large or complex sites.

Wide support for different security concepts

The integration supports several core solutions from Hirsch UK’s portfolio. These include FenceSecure PIDS for fence monitoring, PulseSecure for electric security fences, and the HatchSecure system for monitoring maintenance and service hatches.

In addition, infrared beam barriers, fibre-optic detection systems and combined multi-detection solutions can be integrated. This makes the platform suitable for critical infrastructure as well as industrial facilities, data centres, energy suppliers and other security-critical sites.

Focus on integrated security ecosystems

According to Adam O’Reilly, Perimeter Director at Hirsch UK, the collaboration marks an important step for customers who already use the Genetec Security Centre as their central security platform. By directly integrating perimeter protection technologies, organisations could significantly strengthen their external security without introducing additional complexity into their security processes.

Nicholas Smith, Regional Sales Director for the UK & Ireland at Genetec, also sees a fundamental shift in the market. Companies are increasingly replacing traditional, siloed security systems with integrated and data-driven security ecosystems. The new integration enables operators of complex properties to monitor, analyse and verify perimeter incidents on a single geographical interface. This helps to reduce blind spots and minimise false alarms, which frequently occur with isolated systems.

Scalable security architectures for critical infrastructure

For Ionatan Lavric, Perimeter Technical Director at Hirsch UK, the openness of the system architecture is a particular priority. The aim is to develop high-performance perimeter detection systems that can be seamlessly integrated into existing security landscapes. Through the collaboration with Genetec, operators gain greater flexibility and control over their security infrastructure, whilst security-related incidents are relayed to the relevant teams more quickly and accurately.

Integration as the key to modern perimeter security

The collaboration between Hirsch UK and Genetec highlights the trend towards open, interoperable security platforms. Rather than operating perimeter protection as a standalone system, sensor technology, access control, video management and alarm handling are increasingly being consolidated into shared security ecosystems.

For operators of critical infrastructure, this means not only greater transparency and more efficient processes, but also a better basis for making swift and informed decisions in the event of an incident. The new integration thus enhances the Genetec Security Centre with powerful perimeter security features and supports organisations on their journey towards a future-proof, holistic security architecture.
