Strengthen the human firewall with TÜV SÜD Academy’s cybersecurity training courses

October 24, 2022

Whether ransomware attacks or phishing campaigns: The decisive success factor in the fight against cybercriminals, in addition to all technical measures, is the further training of employees. TÜV SÜD Akademie points this out in the run-up to the IT security trade fair it-sa 2022 from 25 to 27 October in Nuremberg. To enable companies to activate their human firewall in the best possible way, TÜV SÜD Akademie has bundled its cybersecurity training courses in a separate theme world.

Cybersecurity should be directly anchored in the corporate culture. The triangle of people, processes and technology must be continuously strengthened. Customised training creates the prerequisite for cybersecurity to actually be lived in an organisation and implemented on a daily basis. Well-trained employees make a considerable contribution to the defence against cyber attacks as the “human security factor”.

More knowledge – more security

Under the claim “Continuing education. Thought ahead. the TÜV SÜD Academy has defined four thematic worlds: Cybersecurity is one of them, along with sustainability, quality management and hydrogen. The portfolio ranges from basic training courses on information security, which are aimed at a broad workforce, to more in-depth and sector-specific training courses in the fields of information security and industrial IT security. The special features of the respective sectors are addressed, such as industrial manufacturing and IIOT, automotive (OEM and suppliers), healthcare and the financial industry. The basis of the respective training is the current normative framework as well as the legal requirements of the corresponding sector.

Phishing simulations

One of the greatest cyber dangers is e-mail phishing. In cooperation with the Darmstadt-based security company IT-SEAL, TÜV SÜD Academy offers a security awareness platform.

It can be used to manage training measures and make them measurable through key performance indicators (KPIs). At the same time, the learning platform enables the simulation of phishing attacks and creates transparency about the training success of employees via an analysis dashboard.

In order for training measures to be as effective and sustainable as possible, they should be tailored to the individual requirements of the participants. Whether classroom training, blended training, pure online training with flexible scheduling or specially tailored in-house seminars: TÜV SÜD Academy’s range of continuing education courses covers a wide spectrum.
