On the 100th anniversary of the founding of Bauhaus, the newly opened Bauhaus Museum in Dessau is shining in a modern light: the comprehensive public presentation of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation is showing around 49,000 cataloged exhibits for the first time – thus presenting the world’s second largest Bauhaus collection in all its diversity.
Located in the heart of the city, the museum fascinates with its architecturally outstanding design: a suspended concrete construction, clad in a transparent glass shell that adapts to the light conditions. This successful symbiosis of structure and aesthetics reflects the aspiration to innovatively combine technology and design.
New standard in security management
The introduction of an intelligent digital key system was clearly defined from the outset: the aim was to reduce the administrative burden of access authorizations while discreetly integrating the sophisticated concept of the building. As with the Bauhaus main building and the master houses, the Bauhaus Foundation chose the established eCLIQ system from ASSA ABLOY – a step that also underlines the digital progress of the building.
David Moser, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Digital Access Solutions at ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions EMEIA, puts it succinctly: “The building points to an increasingly digital future. With a solution like eCLIQ in place of mechanical access, organizations can work smarter and collaborate more effectively.”
The advantages of the digital solution: security, convenience and flexibility
“The CLIQ electromechanical master key system has already proven to be extremely reliable in the master houses and the main building,” emphasizes Uwe Becker, managing director of Becker Sicherheitstechnik GmbH and the museum’s security partner.
The digitized eCLIQ system offers almost unlimited possibilities: It can protect all openings – from doors and elevators to server racks, furniture or cabinets – with a high degree of security and controllability. Each key is equipped with a unique chip so that access authorizations can be individually and precisely programmed. If a key is lost, all associated authorizations can be removed centrally and easily. The system also allows for the issuing of temporary access rights, which makes it significantly easier to manage external service providers such as maintenance companies and cleaning staff.
Design concept meets digital innovation
The high-tech solution seamlessly integrates into the sophisticated concept of the Bauhaus Museum with its simple elegance. The eCLIQ keys and cylinders impress not only with their security, but also with their aesthetics. Thanks to an integrated standard battery, each key supplies the eCLIQ cylinder with power – no wiring of the doors or cylinders is required, thus maintaining the architectural integrity of the building.
“With our innovative access solutions, you can digitize access at almost any location and make it future-proof,” says David Moser. ”Our broad portfolio of reliable and practical solutions highlights the value of digital transformation and can be tailored to fit each organization’s objectives.”
