Smart HUB Plus LV: Self-sufficient protection and smart control for camping and on board

July 14, 2025

In increasingly mobile and off-grid applications such as motorhomes, inland yachts or remote industrial and open-space facilities, the challenge is to reliably supply alarm and automation systems with power while providing all smart functions. SATEL sp. z o.o., a renowned manufacturer of security alarm and building automation solutions, meets this need with the Smart HUB Plus LV – a self-sufficient BE WAVE controller that can operate with a wide input voltage range of 9–28 V DC.

Self-sufficient power supply with deep discharge protection

The Smart HUB Plus LV can be powered either by 12 V or 24 V lead or lithium batteries, mobile energy storage devices or off-grid sustainable systems (such as photovoltaic and wind power systems). Integrated deep discharge protection prevents damage to the power source by automatically switching off the controller when defined voltage limits are exceeded. If the primary power supply fails, a built-in emergency power battery ensures uninterrupted operation. Deviations from permissible voltage or current parameters are immediately signalled to the user via LED display, push notification or SMS.

Radio-based hazard and status monitoring

With support for up to 128 radio devices in the ABAX 2 standard (868 MHz, bidirectional communication, ranges up to 2 km), the Smart HUB Plus LV enables comprehensive monitoring of safety-related and environmental parameters. These include motion or glass break detectors with camera resolution, opening and vibration sensors, and smoke, carbon monoxide and water detectors. The wireless architecture thus not only covers classic burglar alarms, but also detects fire signals or moisture ingress as a preventive measure and initiates automated responses.

Flexible automation interfaces

Using standardised control modules – for lighting, electric valves or drives for roller shutters, awnings and windows, for example – the Smart HUB Plus LV implements intelligent processes and ensures situational adjustments.

For example, automated scenarios can be set up that open the shut-off valve of the bilge pump when a water detector is activated in the ship’s hull or automatically lower roller shutters and switch on lights when the ship is unoccupied at night.

Versatile communication channels

Thanks to integrated Ethernet, LTE and WLAN modules, the controller is online in both wired and completely self-sufficient networks. Users receive status updates, alarm messages and system warnings in real time – via push notifications in the mobile BE WAVE app (iOS/Android), SMS or CLIP. At the same time, connection to external emergency call centres and control centres – for example, security services or factory fire brigades – enables professional 24/7 monitoring.

Central management and remote access

The BE WAVE app acts as an intuitive control panel: it can be used to configure all connected sensors, actuators and automation processes. Users always have access to power supply data, event logs and, optionally, live images from IP cameras. Schedules, routines and scenes can be created directly on the controller and adjusted centrally or remotely as required – without local access.

With the Smart HUB Plus LV from SATEL, operators of remote, mobile and self-sufficient locations now have access to a universal platform that combines protection functions and automation intelligence in a compact, energy-efficient system. Whether it’s the electrical system in a motorhome, a battery bank on an inland yacht or a stand-alone solution in remote outposts, the BE WAVE controller ensures continuous operation, in-depth monitoring and flexible control options – regardless of the availability of external power or network connections.
