Telenot’s new strategy: the evolution of complex 400H to hiplex 8400H

February 19, 2025

After 21 years of successful market presence of complex 400H, Telenot is introducing a new era in intrusion detection technology with the launch of hiplex 8400H – equipped with feature package F12. This technical article highlights the technical development from the proven single-board solution to a hybrid, scalable system architecture that integrates both wired and radio-based components, thereby opening up completely new fields of application.

For more than two decades, the complex 400H has played a major role in shaping generations of specialist companies and Telenot itself, establishing itself as a true legend in the intruder alarm technology market. Its innovative single-board solution enabled flexible adaptation to changing market requirements and proved to be the technical foundation of modern security solutions. Nevertheless, technological advances and new fields of application require an evolution of the existing systems. With the hiplex 8400H and the current F12 update, Telenot is therefore introducing a system that sets new standards in terms of performance, flexibility and scalability.

From legend to [R]EVOLUTION

The success story of the complex 400H is based on its outstanding technical realisation. As a technical masterpiece of its time, it served as the cornerstone of modern intruder alarm technology for many years. The unique single-board architecture not only offered easy expandability and high reliability, but also remarkable flexibility in dealing with changing requirements. Despite this impressive history, it has become necessary to address modern needs. The requirements of small commercial installations and private applications today demand hybrid solutions that integrate both traditional wired components and modern wireless technologies. This is precisely where hiplex 8400H comes in, combining the proven functions of its predecessor generation with innovative technological features.

Technical architecture of the hiplex 8400H

The central feature of the hiplex 8400H lies in its hybrid system solution, which makes it possible to combine both wired and radio-based components in a single control panel. With the F12 update, the integration of radio technology is seamlessly implemented for the first time, so that both communication channels can be used in parallel. This dual communication option significantly expands the range of applications for intrusion detection technology and makes it possible to implement freely scalable systems that meet almost any requirement, from small commercial businesses to complex security installations.

In addition, the hiplex 8400H outperforms its predecessors in terms of capacity. For example, while the old generation only supported 208 conventional detector zones, the new control panel can integrate up to 1,008 detector zones. Similarly, the number of supported doors has increased from 24 to over 300, and the detection of reporting areas has been expanded from 128 to an impressive 512. The option of connecting up to 8 slaves also allows for virtually unlimited system expansion, which significantly increases system performance, particularly in demanding security environments.

New features and functional enhancements

The F12 update brings a host of new features that make the hiplex 8400H a future-proof system. The integration of DSS2 wireless components and wireless smoke detectors (FRM381) via specially developed wireless gateways enables wireless elements to be included in the central control system, significantly expanding the system’s flexibility and range. At the same time, the newly developed MT810 door module ensures optimised monitoring and control of doors, further improving integration into existing building management systems.

Another highlight is the new cryplock BLM10 DUO RFID reader, which enables precise access control and offers additional security features. This extensive feature package is complemented by various functional enhancements, such as the storage of one-man audits and other software updates that improve the traceability and efficiency of system maintenance. In addition, the system’s operability has been made significantly more intuitive and user-friendly by adding nine additional operating languages and an optimised user interface. These innovations reflect Telenot’s ongoing commitment to continuously improving existing systems and developing future-oriented security solutions.

Integration into existing service and training structures

In addition to pure product innovations, Telenot places great value on comprehensive customer care. The wide range of product solutions, which includes a variety of compatible components and expansion options, enables individual customisation to specific customer requirements. At the same time, regular updates and technical information in the ‘News & Infos’ section ensure that partners and end users are always up to date with the latest technology. This offer is complemented by targeted training programmes that provide continuous professional development for specialist staff, enabling them to make optimal use of the new system functions. Last but not least, comprehensive customer service and technical support as part of the ‘Service & Contact’ package guarantees seamless integration and maintenance of the systems, whereby Telenot’s holistic strategy not only supports installation and commissioning, but also the continuous further development and adaptation of security solutions.

Conclusion and outlook

With the introduction of hiplex 8400H, Telenot is taking a significant step in the evolution of intruder alarm technology. In this system, the company combines proven technologies with modern approaches to meet the increasing demands for flexibility, scalability and integration. The hybrid architecture, the innovative integration of radio technologies and the extensive expansion options make the hiplex 8400H a future-proof solution for a wide range of applications. With further planned evolutionary steps and continuous improvements, Telenot will continue to set standards in the security sector and lead the way into a new era of intrusion detection technology.
