Milestone Systems joins CVE programme and increases transparency in cybersecurity

March 10, 2024

Milestone Systems, a leading provider of video technology, is now a partner of the Common Vulnerability and Exposures (CVE®) programme as a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA).

The aim of the programme is to find, describe and uniformly catalogue known cyber security vulnerabilities. Companies around the world that work with the programme find and share information about vulnerabilities they have discovered in their systems. They publish CVE datasets with details of the – solved – issues to help other IT and cyber security experts solve similar problems and work together to make improvements.

Thomas Jensen, CEO of Milestone Systems, said: “Milestone Systems is committed to cybersecurity transparency across our organisation. Responsible use of technology legitimises and underpins our work. People have the right to feel safe because they can trust video technology.

“As a partner of the CVE programme, we will now make closed vulnerabilities available to the wider public, giving Milestone the opportunity to address and fix potential issues even more effectively. This will further improve our cybersecurity and increase confidence in our XProtect® Open Platform Video Management Software.”

Closed cybersecurity vulnerabilities will continue to be reported via Milestone’s website. Registration is now done under CVE ID numbers and the vulnerabilities and mitigations will be accessible via Milestone’s profile on the CVE website as well as milestonesys.com.
