Family business is once again among the best medium-sized companies in the Free State of Bavaria

The Munk Group, headquartered in Günzburg, is once again among the best medium-sized companies in Bavaria. The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy has now named the family-owned company Bavaria’s Best 50. Ferdinand Munk (owner and managing director) and his team had already received the coveted award in 2014. The award winners were determined by an auditing company as an independent juror on behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.

“In the past five years, they have defied the difficult conditions to a particular extent and have grown at an above-average rate. Both in the number of employees and in sales. This shows that they are indeed among the best medium-sized companies in Bavaria” said State Secretary for Economic Affairs Roland Weigert, representing Minister Hubert Aiwanger, at the award ceremony, which took place at Schleißheim Castle.

The Minister sees the Munk Group and the other prize winners as “absolute entrepreneurial role models. The prize puts them more in the public eye in line with their economic and social importance.”

For Ferdinand Munk, the Bavaria’s Best 50 award is a very special distinction. “The past few years in particular have been special years for our family business. We have grown strongly and also implemented an investment volume in the double-digit millions for a new company location in Leipheim and the plant expansion in Günzburg. At the same time, we have mastered a transformation process – with a new company structure that secures the future for our employees and their families and consistently focuses on sustainability. I can’t express in words how proud I am of our great team. I am very happy to accept the award on behalf of our team, because this was truly a great joint effort by everyone,” said Ferdinand Munk together with Alexander Werdich, who as son-in-law and managing director represents the fifth family generation, at the award ceremony.

Family takes responsibility

In the fall of 2021, the family-owned company Günzburger Steigtechnik GmbH had repositioned itself under the umbrella of the Munk Group, anchoring the conscious responsibility of the Munk family of entrepreneurs also in its naming. Under the company promise “Munk – Safety. Made in Germany”, the Munk Group has been self-confident ever since, and its success proves the company right. Because in recent years, Ferdinand Munk and his team have developed plenty of innovations in the field of access and rescue technology that contribute to increasing safety in the workplace or in rescue operations. “As we all know, health is our most valuable asset, and we see it as our mission to protect people as best we can with our products and services” says Munk.

For the Munk Group, the renewed award as Bavaria’s Best 50 is an incentive for future-oriented and sustainable further development for the future. “We want to continue to shape the industry as a technology and innovation leader. To this end, we will continue to expand our pioneering position, particularly in the core topics of occupational safety, digitalization and sustainability,” says Munk. To this end, the company is planning further investments in the double-digit millions over the next five years.
