The German Design Award is one of the most renowned design awards in the world and places the highest demands on the selection of award winners. In a nomination process, companies are invited to participate whose products and communication design achievements are demonstrably convincing in terms of their design quality. The top-class international jury has now honoured the new Argus V60 sensor gate from dormakaba with the Special Mention 2023 award for its excellent product design.
The compact Argus V60 sensor barrier offers security, elegance and efficiency in the smallest of spaces and gives architects and users more freedom without compromising on personal protection and separation detection. Especially in areas such as foyers with lift systems or within office buildings, the sensor barrier ensures reliable people flow control. Thanks to the new and modern SensLib sensor technology, the interlock can be integrated in the smallest of installation spaces to separate floors or in the entrance areas of buildings. RFID readers, barcode scanners or escape route components can be integrated. Thanks to the integrative technology, the system fits into the architecture like a piece of furniture.
Since 2012, the German Design Award has identified significant design trends, presented them to a broad public and honoured them. The award is presented by the German Design Council, the German brand and design authority. Its mission from the highest level: to represent German design. Founded in 1953 as a foundation on the initiative of the German Bundestag, it supports the economy in consistently achieving added brand value through design.
