TÜV SÜD and TÜV Hessen at ACHEMA

Innovative services for the chemical and process industry from a single source

TÜV SÜD and TÜV Hessen offer customised service packages from a single source for companies in the chemical and process industries. Visitors to ACHEMA from 10 to 14 June 2024 can find out more about the comprehensive and innovative solutions offered by the two TÜV SÜD Group companies (Hall 9, Stand D68). The experts will also be represented with four technical presentations at the World Forum of the Process Industry.

The chemical and process industry faces major challenges in the coming years. The most important developments relate to further internationalisation, the increasing digitalisation of many processes and a stronger focus on sustainability through the increased use of renewable raw materials and renewable energies. TÜV SÜD and TÜV Hessen support companies in the industry in this process with a comprehensive service portfolio that ranges from ‘A’ such as plant safety to ‘Z’ such as non-destructive testing.

A particular focus of TÜV SÜD and TÜV Hessen’s presence at the trade fair will be on digitalisation and decarbonisation.

For example, the experts will show how TÜV SÜD’s own intelligent data management system smartDAMAS can be used to seamlessly map the entire inspection and life cycle of systems and components and how operators can improve the availability, reliability and safety of pressure equipment and containers with acoustic emission testing for pressure equipment and containers.

A decisive criterion for successful decarbonisation is the transparency of planned and already implemented measures. TÜV SÜD and TÜV Hessen support companies in demonstrating compliance with the requirements of the Paris Climate Change Conference COP 21. The experts’ services include, for example, the validation and verification of carbon footprints, the VERIchem method for the validation and verification of CO2 emissions in production processes and analyses of the hydrogen compatibility of materials and components. Because hydrogen is becoming the key to a successful energy transition in many companies in the process industry, technical quality assurance, corrosion tests and the retrofitting of their infrastructure are gaining enormously in importance.

The presentation by TÜV SÜD and TÜV Hessen will be rounded off by other services from the ‘classic’ area of plant safety, such as HAZOP or risk analyses, as well as services to support global sourcing – for example through independent quality assurance inspections at production facilities.

There will also be plenty of action at the stand, including live acoustic emission tests on a small container and a demonstration of the Digital Data Chain using this apparatus as an example.

TÜV SÜD presentations at ACHEMA:

  • Investigation of a hydrogen high-pressure pipeline made of duplex stainless steel 1.4462 after 12 years of operation (10.06.2024, 10:00 – 10:30, Room Korall – 11.0)
  • Material testing for hydrogen applications – ensuring safety and reliability (10.06.2024, 11:00 – 11:30, Room Korall – 11.0)
  • VERIx – Verification of the CO2 product footprint (13.06.2024, 15:30 – 16:00, Room Consens – 4.C)
  • Types of Typicals, Model and Reference HAZOPs to increase efficiency and effectiveness (13/06/2024, 16:20 – 16:40, Room Karmesin – 11.0)

TÜV SÜD and TÜV Hessen are continuously expanding their joint offering for the chemical and process industry in order to be able to fulfil companies’ changing or new requirements – whereby the safety and availability of the systems in operation will always take centre stage.
