With the new XS4 dual reader models from the XS4 Original+ and XS4 One S series, Salto is expanding its access control portfolio to include electronic fittings for zone access control or entry and exit monitoring. The dual-sided readers enable seamless control and logging of access events on both sides of a door, thereby addressing increasing demands for security, transparency and traceability.
The new Salto XS4 dual-reader units feature two readers. This enables independent access control on both sides, for example on corridor doors, connecting doors in hotel suites and in security-critical environments. They are suitable for a wide range of applications, from the hospitality and healthcare sectors through to office and educational establishments, and on to industry and critical infrastructure. Even in particularly sensitive areas such as laboratories or psychiatric facilities, the technology offers suitable applications thanks to its robust design and differentiated security functions.
By using readers on both sides of the door, entry and exit can be reliably controlled and intelligently linked, enabling additional functions such as anti-passback and attendance monitoring. The anti-passback function (access re-entry lock) prevents unauthorised multiple use of access media. Attendance monitoring (roll call) provides clarity as to whether users are inside or outside a defined area. This transparency not only facilitates security analyses and audits, but also enables dynamic control of people flows, for example by limiting the number of people in certain areas at any one time.
The dual-reader models are available for the XS4 Original+ and XS4 One S, each in a slim-face version as well as a DIN version for drill-free installation on existing DIN rosette hole patterns. All models are compatible with the Salto Space, Salto KS and Salto Homelok smart access control platforms.
Thanks to their wireless architecture, the fittings enhance security without the complexity of a conventional hard-wired infrastructure. This simplifies installation whilst minimising costs. The XS4 dual-reader fittings are suitable for both new builds and existing properties. At the same time, the models integrate seamlessly into Salto’s versatile portfolio for smart access control and operate both via virtual networking through the Salto Virtual Network (SVN) and via wireless networking through the BLUEnet Wireless infrastructure. They are designed for keyless use with RFID identification media (e.g. cards and key fobs) and digital keys (Mobile Access).
Custom configurations can be created using the MyLock online configurator, allowing the fittings to be flexibly adapted to specific project requirements. [www.saltosystems.de[
