AI-powered weighing system digitises logistics processes

June 1, 2026

Taiwanese provider Ability Intelligent Corp. has announced the successful roll-out of its AI-based weighbridge management system at several industrial and logistics sites. The solution is designed to enable a fully digital, unmanned workflow and to link physical goods movements with digital business processes.
At the heart of the platform is an automated four-stage process that replaces previous manual procedures. Using deep learning techniques, registration numbers and container numbers are automatically recorded. At the same time, AI-powered image processing ensures precise positioning of vehicles on the weighbridge, meaning manual guidance is no longer required.
Weight data is recorded in real time via industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and synchronised directly with ERP and warehouse management systems via interfaces. This ensures that logistics, operational and financial data remain consistent and traceable at all times.
In addition to the actual weighing process, the system functions as a central monitoring platform. Sensors, scales and other components are continuously monitored to identify maintenance requirements at an early stage and prevent unplanned downtime. The combination of vehicle positioning, number plate recognition (LPR) and scale integration within a single user interface is designed to largely eliminate tampering and manual input errors.
According to Ability Intelligent, the current implementations particularly support companies seeking to make their supply chains more transparent and meet requirements for digital traceability and ESG compliance. The company views precise real-time data as a key factor in the future development of modern logistics and industrial infrastructures.
“We are witnessing more than mere automation – it is an evolution of management philosophy,” explains Roger Hung, General Manager of Ability Intelligent. The aim is to transform complex industrial processes into autonomous and fully digital workflows.
