Drone expertise from Germany: CONDOR Group combines reconnaissance and drone defence for the international market

July 6, 2026

The international security and defence sector is undergoing profound change. Modern conflict scenarios, hybrid threats and the increasing proliferation of unmanned systems are transforming the demands placed on armed forces and security agencies alike. Interest in integrated drone and counter-UAS solutions was correspondingly high at this year’s Eurosatory 2026 in Paris. A particular highlight was the joint exhibition stand of Germandrones, CONDOR International & Maritime Services and Tensar Systems, who presented their expertise as an integrated solutions network for the first time.

Joint exhibition boosts visibility of SMEs

With more than 62,000 trade visitors, Eurosatory ranks among the most important international platforms for defence and security technologies. Under the umbrella of the German Pavilion, organised by the Federal Association of the Security and Defence Industry, the three companies seized the opportunity to present their complementary technologies as a comprehensive, end-to-end concept.

The joint exhibition presence proved to be a strategic advantage. Rather than individual product solutions, the focus was on an integrated approach combining reconnaissance, sensor technology, situational awareness management, and drone detection and defence. The response was correspondingly positive. Numerous discussions with international procurers, public authorities and industry partners led to concrete project enquiries and new opportunities for cooperation.

“The sheer scale of the trade fair and the number of exhibitors and visitors are overwhelming. Many of our promising discussions are based on this,” explains Dr Klaus Scho, Managing Director of Germandrones.

European technologies are gaining in importance

The timing for this joint market launch could hardly be more favourable. Security policy developments in recent years have significantly increased the demand for high-performance drone systems and effective counter-UAS technologies. At the same time, interest is growing among many European and international procurers in technologically independent solutions developed in Europe.

Alongside high engineering standards and reliability, practical operational experience is becoming particularly important. According to Germandrones, insights gained from the deployment of the systems in Ukraine are being incorporated into further development, as are experiences from applications with public safety authorities and organisations (BOS) as well as military users.

A comprehensive portfolio from reconnaissance to defence

The focus of the exhibition stand was on the complementary capabilities of the three companies.

Germandrones presented the battle-tested Songbird, an unmanned aerial vehicle designed for reconnaissance missions. The platform provides high-resolution aerial imagery and real-time information for military and law enforcement operations.

CONDOR IMS will in future expand this portfolio to include drone detection solutions, as well as the FLEA, a reusable counter-drone, which provides technology for actively countering unmanned aerial vehicles.

Tensar Systems complemented the overall concept with a high-performance command-and-control layer (C2), which consolidates information from airborne and ground-based sensors in real time to form a unified situational picture. The solution also includes an autonomous spotter camera for ground-based observation and automated target detection. As the software operates independently of hardware, existing systems from different manufacturers can be easily integrated and expanded.

Combined strength creates added value

By pooling their expertise, the three companies cover key components of modern reconnaissance, surveillance and drone defence architectures. At the same time, they complement the interceptor and FPV capabilities of the German-Ukrainian joint venture Germandrones UKR, thereby creating a comprehensive portfolio for a wide variety of operational scenarios.

Their joint exhibition stand at Eurosatory also highlights an important trend within the German security and defence industry: medium-sized companies are increasingly enhancing their international competitiveness through strategic partnerships. Instead of isolated, stand-alone solutions, the focus is shifting towards integrated end-to-end systems – an approach that is increasingly in demand on the international market.

With their first joint appearance, Germandrones, CONDOR IMS and Tensar Systems have demonstrated that combined innovative strength and specialised technologies can be successfully combined to form high-performance integrated solutions. The contacts made in Paris could therefore soon pave the way for international projects and new partnerships.
