More visitors, practical formats and a long-term decision to remain in Nuremberg
FeuerTrutz 2026 has further consolidated its position as Europe’s leading trade fair for preventive fire protection. With 6,900 trade visitors, 248 exhibitors and another well-attended fire safety congress, the event in Nuremberg recorded an increase in visitor numbers compared with the previous year, underlining the growing importance of preventive fire safety against the backdrop of new regulatory requirements, technological developments and rising demands on the resilience of buildings and critical infrastructure.
At the same time, the extension of the partnership between NürnbergMesse and RM Rudolf Müller Medien until at least 2031 sent an important signal regarding the long-term development of the event.
Preventive fire protection remains a growth market
The rising visitor numbers reflect the dynamic development of the industry. Compared with 2025, the number of trade visitors rose from 6,600 to around 6,900. At the same time, 248 companies presented their solutions across the entire value chain of preventative fire protection – from fire detection technology and extinguishing systems through to building products and digital planning and documentation solutions.
The Fire Safety Congress, held in parallel, once again served as the event’s knowledge hub. A total of 1,394 participants, including 249 online, took advantage of the lecture programme to learn about the latest technical, legal and regulatory developments.
Digitalisation and AI are shaping the future of fire safety
In terms of content, it became clear that digitalisation and artificial intelligence are now also bringing about lasting change in preventive fire safety.
With the “ZUKUNFTSRAUM”, introduced for the first time, the trade fair gained a new format specifically dedicated to the technological developments of the coming years. The focus was on digital planning processes, AI applications, new working environments and their impact on the planning, testing and assessment of fire safety measures.
These topics also played a central role in the conference programme. Alongside traditional issues relating to fire safety concepts, existing buildings, timber construction and building services engineering, the opportunities and challenges of using AI in preventive fire safety were discussed in depth.
In doing so, FeuerTrutz demonstrated that digital technologies are increasingly becoming an integral part of modern fire safety concepts.
Practical focus remains a hallmark
A key feature of FeuerTrutz remains the close integration of theory and practical application.
Once again, the live demonstrations as part of the ERLEBNIS Brandschutz were in particularly high demand. Expanded demonstration areas, both indoors and outdoors, enabled a direct comparison of different materials, extinguishing systems and technical solutions, and allowed visitors to experience first-hand how they work.
The FeuerTrutz Arena also once again emerged as a central meeting point for specialist presentations, panel discussions and exchanges between manufacturers, planners, authorities and experts.
The specialist programme was complemented by the FeuerTrutz Studio, where experts presented and contextualised current industry topics, regulatory developments and innovative product solutions.
A knowledge platform for an increasingly complex industry
With around 40 specialist presentations, the Fire Protection Congress once again covered a broad spectrum of current topics. In addition to technical developments, the focus was particularly on changes to building regulations, standardisation, fire protection in existing buildings and new requirements for specialist planning.
Themed tours of the exhibition specifically bridged the gap between the dissemination of scientific knowledge and the exhibitors’ concrete practical solutions.
This transfer of knowledge is becoming increasingly important, particularly against the backdrop of rising demands for sustainable construction, resilient buildings and critical infrastructure.
Networking remains a key success factor
Alongside the technical content, personal interaction also played a central role.
The FeuerTrutz After Work event, which was once again fully booked, proved to be one of the event’s most important networking formats in 2026. Furthermore, numerous other opportunities for discussion and exchange were made full use of, strengthening the dialogue between manufacturers, planners, public authorities, experts and operators.
The combination of trade fair, congress and networking thus remains one of FeuerTrutz’s unique selling points.
Long-term commitment to Nuremberg as a venue
With the extension of the partnership between NürnbergMesse and RM Rudolf Müller Medien until at least 2031, the event also gains long-term planning certainty.
Nuremberg will thus remain a key meeting place in future for manufacturers, planners, architects, engineers, public authorities and operators dealing with the technical, regulatory and economic challenges of preventive fire protection.
Fire safety is evolving into an interdisciplinary topic of the future
FeuerTrutz 2026 made it clear that preventive fire safety is increasingly becoming an interdisciplinary task. Digitalisation, artificial intelligence, sustainable construction, new building materials and rising demands on the resilience of critical infrastructure are changing both technical planning and the regulatory framework.
With its practical approach, the close integration of the trade fair and conference, and its focus on innovation, FeuerTrutz remains one of the most important European platforms for the transfer of knowledge and technology in preventive fire protection. The next edition will take place on 16 and 17 June 2027, once again at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre.
